Hot On Rocks

Jessica Biel, with her striking good looks and wide range of talent, has become one of Hollywood's most sought-out actresses.Jessica Claire Biel was born on March 3, 1982, in Ely, Minnesota, but grew up in Boulder, Colorado, after her family relocated to the rocky state. Before being discovered, Jessica took her acting abilities to the stage. Since she was 9 years old, she was starring in regional theater productions of Beauty and the Beast, The Invisible People, Annie, and The Sound of Music.

Golden Fish

Jessica is a regular girl who loved to sing, dance, in-line skate, and mountain bike. Jessica Biel was first discovered while competing at the International Modeling and Talent Association's Los Angeles Convention in 1994. Her participation in the conference led to her being awarded a scholarship to the Young Actors Space, an acting society in Los Angeles. The hazel-eyed beauty hit it big in 1996 when she was cast as Mary Camden in the WB's successful family drama "7th Heaven". While playing one of seven siblings on the Aaron Spelling-produced show, Jessica Biel also proved to moviegoers that she could steal the spotlight on the silver screen. In 1997, she starred with Peter Fonda in Ulee's Gold -- which garnered attention at the Sundance and Cannes Film Festivals -- and her role as the rebellious teen made critics take notice.

Seeking Prey

Jessica Biel posed topless in a layout of Gear magazine in 2000, although she did not actually appear frontally nude. It was nonetheless controversial because she was only 17 at the time of the shoot. Her frustration and fear about being typecast was one of the reasons that led to her decision. She blamed her saintly image on 7th Heaven for limiting her film career, including losing a lead role in American Beauty, which eventually went to Thora Birch. Jessica also hoped that by posing she would get out of her 7th Heaven contract, which she accomplished. She later said she regretted posing for the magazine and regards it as a learning experience. Jessica returned to 7th Heaven full time for the 2001—2002 season and then focused her attention on her movie career and has made minimal TV appearances since then. In 2002, she also had a role in the film The Rules of Attraction based on a novel by Bret Easton Ellis.

Balcony View

Jessica Beil accepted the role of Erin Hardesty in "The Texas Chainsaw Massacre" (2003). The movie was met with moderate critical attention, but was successful commercially making over 80 million dollars stateside with its 9 million dollar budget. She has also had starring roles in Blade: Trinity (2004) and Stealth (2005), the latter of which was a box-office flop, losing $99 million USD. In March 2005, casting for Revolution Studios's big-budget remake of John Carpenter's "The Fog" was underway. Biel was rumored to be up for the part of Elizabeth Solley (a part originated by scream queen Jamie Lee Curtis). Later reports stated Biel did not want to do any more horror films. After a nearly three year absence, Jessica surprised her fans by making one final appearance in the series finale of 7th Heaven in May 2006. The series was later renewed, at last minute, for an 11th and, as it turned out, final season. Biel did not make any future appearances in the show.

Butterfly On Grass

Jessica Beil's filmy career finally blossomed when she played a turn-of-the-century duchess in "The Illusionist" (2006), which received good reviews and generated a profit at the box office. In 2006, she also starred Home of the Brave, about soldiers returning from Iraq, premiered in Los Angeles on December 5, 2006. She next co-starred opposite Adam Sandler and Kevin James in the comedy I Now Pronounce You Chuck and Larry, which went to number one at the box office, making 34 million dollars in its opening weekend, She is slated to appear in at least two more films in 2008: A Woman of No Importance, based on the play by Oscar Wilde about a woman's past which comes back to haunt her when the man who left her with a child becomes the potential employer of their illegitimate son. Taking over Lindsay Lohan's part, it is set to begin filming in the fall of 2007.

Acts With Freedom

Jessica Biel attended the exclusive private Lycée Français de Los Angeles high school but graduated from Concord High School in Santa Monica, CA. In fall 2000, she enrolled in an undergraduate study at Tufts University in Medford, Massachusetts. Jessica had been linked to New York Yankees star shortstop Derek Jeter.

Hotty Lips

Jessica Biel's bone structure is so perfect her cheekbones could have been chiseled by Michelangelo himself. She has a radiant beauty that will carry on for years to come. There's little wonder why Esquire named her the Sexiest Woman Alive in 2005.

At 5'7" she has quite a presence, and her look gives off an older (more desirable) appearance. She has the charisma and sex appeal needed to be a movie starlet or pinup girl. She placed No. 5 on Top 99 Most Desirable Women in 2007and placed No. 7 in 2008.

Sitting Comfortable

Biel was linked to Justin Timberlake when pictures surfaced of the two snowboarding in Park City, Utah during the Sundance Film Festival. On May 12, 2007, the gossip was refueled with the release of romantic pictures of Timberlake and Biel on multiple dates, specifically caught kissing while dining in the UK accompanied by producer/mogul Timbaland and then Manchester United footballer Alan Smith. Since then, both Timberlake and Biel have publicly acknowledged their relationship, choosing not to comment in further detail. The two have also been reportedly seen near the campus of The University of South Carolina, shooting for her upcoming film Nailed. In June 2008 it was reported that Biel accepted Timberlake's offer to move into his Hollywood Hills home with him.

Cowgirl Around

On July 18, 2006, Biel participated in a charity auction to raise medical funds for Colorado teen Molly Bloom, who was injured in an auto accident. John Schiffner of Fergus Falls, Minnesota successfully bid $30,000 to have lunch with Biel. "I promise I'm a cheap date," Biel quipped. My High Heels

Jessica Biel is a gorgeous specimen of a woman, but beautiful girls are a dime a dozen in Hollywood. What has always made Jessica Biel stand out is her maturity, which far outstrips the age on her driver's license. In 1996, she got her breakthrough role as a preacher's daughter on the WB's 7th Heaven. Since then, people have been raving about Jessica Biel's future possibilities. Even Jessica Biel herself felt that big things awaited her, and that her goody-goody role on 7th Heaven was preventing her from taking on more meaningful roles, such as the role in American Beauty that she read for that eventually went to Mena Suvari.

Comfortably Clean

Jessica Biel's controversy surrounding her almost nude photo shoot and frank interview in Gear magazine before she turned 18 in an effort to upset Aaron Spelling and get him to tear up her squeaky-clean 7th Heaven contract. In the long run, Jessica Biel managed to shed her good-girl image; she left 7th Heaven in 2001 and appeared in a string of high-profile movies since, including The Texas Chainsaw Massacre (2003), Cellular (2004), Blade: Trinity (2004), Stealth (2005), and Next (2007). She let us see her funny side in I Now Pronounce You Chuck and Larry (2007) and a dramatic side in Powder Blue (2008).

Show Time

Jessica Biel is Voted one of People magazine's 50 Most Beautiful People in 1999, Jessica Biel did a 180-degree turn with her career when she posed semi-nude for Gear magazine while underage. In an attempt to break free from her wholesome television image and her contract with Aaron Spelling, Jessica Biel was ready to show men worldwide what she had.

Where's The Party Tonight

Spelling and the rest of 7th Heaven's production team were unhappy to say the least, and filed a lawsuit against the men's magazine. Apparently, Jessica Biel was trying to prove to Spelling that he did not own her (as opposed to her strict contract clauses), and that she could take on whatever projects she chose. This was also in response to the alleged feeling that she was missing out on plum parts in Hollywood movies.
